GORDON SCHWABAUCHER

Gordon has worked extensively with Latino communities in Jackson and Pinedale. In 1979, Gordon spent one year studying and learning Spanish at UNAM, Mexico City. Gordon came to Jackson in 1990 to manage a cattle ranch and worked with Mexican ranch hands for several years. During that time he got to know some of the newly arrived Tlaxcaltecos. He was hired in 1995 to run a small hotel in Costa Rica. The operation involved living and speaking Spanish with staff, guests, vendors, and local & state government. In 1998 he moved to Daniel, Wyoming, where he managed a cattle ranch with Mexican ranch hands, using Spanish daily in a wide range of actives and work. In 2008, Gordon organized his family to live and learn in central Mexico for a year.
